It’s nice to find out ahead of time what a church group is all about.
Our Movement
We are honoured to be part of a movement that was birthed out of the Welsh Revival in Wales. With a missions-focused heart, Acts Global Churches has been active in the Australian community for almost 100 years, and established in Wynyard for over 40 years.
Formerly known as The Apostolic Church Australia, they are a dynamic, spirit-filled network of churches, with a strong focus on local and international missions, equipping the next generation and church planting.

Our Story
New Life Church is a Pentecostal gathering that started as an outreach in the late 70’s where The Vault Cafe now operates. One of our current members, Kath Cooper, became a Christian at our very first gathering, and it wasn't long after this that we became an offical church in 1980. Now we’ve been meeting here in Frederick Street since the late 90’s.
New Life Church is often known for our passion to support the local community, with our regular distribution of Winter and Christmas Hampers to those most in need, and our famous Pizza Nights, pioneered by our previous Pastors, Harry and Bec Cuthbertson.
We really do value being together as a community, which is why we have a time of food and fellowship after the service each Sunday, and why we have connect groups throughout the week in each others homes. For this same reason we’ve started a yearly church camp too. We enjoy having fun, doing life together and going beyond a surface connection with one another.
Core Values
Core Value 1: Behind Closed Doors
What we do when no one is watching is something that matters to God and it also reveals the true condition of our heart. It’s important that we worship and honour Jesus when we’re alone, and not just when we’re gathered together for church (Matthew 6:6). Our heart before God when no one else can see it, is a sacrifice of praise to the Lord.
Core Value 2: We Gather for Him
Even though we may not always feel like coming to church, or we may be at odds with the style of worship and preaching, we choose to set these feelings and preferences aside to honour Jesus and to exalt Him above all else. We choose to come together expectant and ready to meet with the Lord of Hosts, regardless of who is preaching, or which songs we sing.
Core Value 3: We Walk in Love
We’re like a family at church, so we can come to expect disagreements and butting heads at times. The goal isn’t to have no conflict, but instead to journey through it, upholding each other with grace, truth and love. The component that really sets us apart from the world is our radical love for one another, even when we disagree (John 13:35).
